Founded in Monaco in 2010, UnaKids is a non-profit humanitarian organisation that works to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of single-parent children. Our vision at UnaKids is to use education to improve the lives of children who have lost a parental figure so that they are empowered to promote peace and stability in regions which have been affected by violence and massive social disruption. We believe that proper care at a young age forms the foundation for a stable and positive future.
With this aim, the UnaKids charity focuses on two principal activities:
1.) Sponsoring single-parent children
We provide single-parent children with access to full-time education through to university or technical apprenticeship level.
2.) Building educational and medical facilities
Every two years, we aim to build a school or medical facility in a region where UnaKids is present.
As the dedicated corporate charity of the Unaoil Group, UnaKids benefits from having all of its administrative costs covered by Unaoil, thus ensuring that all funds raised from external sponsors and donors reach their intended recipients and projects in full. UnaKids' financial statements are audited annually by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Active in Armenia, Iraq, Lebanon and Nepal, UnaKids is currently sponsoring the education and well-being of 198 children. We have built a school in Iraq that is educating 1,200 children in the southern Fao region, and we are funding the operating costs of a kindergarten in Nepal that is educating 58 children. We also have plans to be active in Iran once sanctions are lifted.
